Supervision

I am an Approved Supervisor with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and can supervise registered LPC and LMFT associates. I am a board-approved supervisor with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I have been supervising since 2010, walking alongside dozens of associates to help develop their clinical skills, consider ethical and legal obligations, and fulfill all requirements for licensure.

I have a strong background in trauma-informed supervision as well as reflective practice facilitation and supervision. I received the Reflective Practice Mentor endorsement from the California Center for Infant-Family and Early-Childhood Mental Health. While most beneficial for professionals working with young children and their families, this modality can support any practitioner.

Reflective practice facilitation supervision supports therapists to reflect on their work through identifying the experiences, thoughts, and feelings involved in doing this work. It helps to consider the interplay of diversity issues including race, power, and privilege as these affect the practitioner and the clients and families served. We will explore ways to apply relevant theories and knowledge bases to clinical situations while upholding an appreciation of the importance of relationship at the core of all therapeutic work.

Consultation

I have provided consultation and trainings for psychotherapists, agencies, churches, educators, and first responders on mental health issues, trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACES), sensory integration, suicide prevention and awareness, critical incident stress debriefing, cultural competence and awareness, play therapy techniques, and infant mental health.

I am passionate about early intervention and love to work with agency officials/administration on implementing an infant-toddler mental health program. Training would include infant-toddler assessment skill-building, relationship-focused treatment planning, as well as clinical interventions proven to work on increasing attachment, decreasing sleep disturbances, tantrums, and defiance.
